Video: BFCA Welcomes Visiting Gerard Houllier
The Bermuda Football Coaches Association [BFCA] hosted a reception this afternoon [March 2] where association president Richard Todd welcomed former football manager and coach Gerard Houllier to the island as the guest of honor in the association’s first annual fundraiser.
The BFCA will stage “A Night with Gerard Houllier” at Pier 6 on Front Street, this evening at 5:30 pm, where Houllier will share a presentation for local football enthusiast on his storied career and offer insight and perspective on the development of football worldwide.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Football Coaches Association is hosting distinguished coach Gerard Houllier in Bermuda from March 1-4, 2018 as the guest of honor for our first annual fundraiser.
“Gerard has been the football manager at some of the world’s biggest football clubs. In particular, Liverpool FC, Paris Saint Germain FC and the French Football Federation.

“He guided Liverpool to the FA Cup, League Cup and Uefa Cup in the 2000-01 season, and went on the win the French League 1 title three times with Paris Saint Germain and Lyon. He also guided France to the UEFA U18 Championship. He is now the global sports director at Red Bull Global Soccer, which includes RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and the New York Red Bulls in the MLS.
